crowns in chaos exhibition

This exhibition is anchored by Crowns in Chaos, a 10-ft mural created by a group of teens and led by Bubbler artist, Shiloah Coley. Captured around the gallery are various processes of collaborative art-making and peeks behind-the-scenes at what goes into collecting stories, experiences, and reflections of yourself and others through art.

“Crowns in Chaos,” a 10-ft mural that culminates the collaboration between Dear Diary teens, The Bubbler at Madison Public Library, and artist Shiloah Symone Coley.

Working on this mural has meant gaining friendships and feeling comfortable with being who I am around others. I am proud of the work we have done as a group. We have created a safe space for Black girls and have given each other respect and appreciation for being ourselves.
