Mission

Dear Diary (DD) provides mentoring services to Black girls to re-write the narrative of Black girlhood and Black womanhood. Our services are strategically curated based on the following core values:

*Self-Esteem

*Academic Achievement

*Professional Excellence

*Service

*Family Engagement

*Personal Development

DEAR DIARY IS COMMITTED TO FOSTERING A COMMUNITY IN WHICH BLACK GIRLS FEEL SUPPORTED, COMPETENT, AND SAFE.

To achieve this, it is essential that the people who engage with our girls regularly are doing so in a positive, productive, respectful, and relevant way. Young girls deal with many challenges and transitions as they mature into women. Authentic relationships, nurturing encounters, and intentional support are necessary for their growth and maturity to prevent trauma, emotional scars, mental breakdowns, and other negative results from difficult encounters.

Dear Diary has committed to being a liaison for our girls and their families, schools, and communities.

We are dedicated to offering support while challenging all parties to engage in dialogue and training that is uncomfortable, frightening, and taboo for the betterment of all groups. Our professional development is interactive, relevant, culturally-appropriate, specific, and useful.
